ETA: Query Club is now closed. Thank you to everyone who participated, and best of luck querying!
A lot of people have entered my recent giveaways for query letter critiques, which makes me realize that it would be great to offer a place for everyone to get more help on writing query letters.
So, for the next few weeks, I’ll be hosting a weekly Query Club in my subscribers-only chat (free and paid subscribers welcome!).
And it starts today!
Here’s how to join in:
Post all or part of your query letter draft as a reply to the Query Club thread in my subscribers-only chat.
Over the course of the week, offer a sentence or two of constructive feedback to others who post their query letters in the chat.
I’ll also offer a bit of feedback on every query letter posted. Feedback will not comprise an extensive, line-by-line critique—it’ll include a few thoughts to keep in mind for revision.
Feel free to post your revised query letter in the following week’s Query Club thread to get more feedback.
When you offer feedback on other people’s query letters, remember to keep it positive, encouraging, and specific. Here are some examples:
“The main character’s magical power sounds intriguing! You might add a phrase describing how it works.”
“I really enjoy stories in which the love interest is a doctor. But I was confused about why your doctor character won’t date other doctors.”
“This sounds like a unique story! What’s at stake if the dinosaurs all get sick before the theme park has its grand opening?”

Looking forward to seeing you at Query Club!
